Integrative Somatic Therapy

Somatic Therapy is a body-centered therapeutic approach, designed to address and resolve trauma held within the body. SE works with the nervous system’s natural responses to stress, allowing the body to release trapped energy and restore a sense of balance and safety. This modality provides a structured yet gentle approach for guiding the body back into a state of regulation and resilience.

While I primarily use methodologies from Somatic Experiencing® developed by Dr. Peter Levine, my somatic approach is informed by training across multiple traditions. This diversity allows me to adapt and integrate elements from various somatic practices, creating a comprehensive and flexible approach to healing.

Benefits of Somatic Therapy

  • Release Physical Tension: Gently discharge stress and trauma held in the body, leading to relief from tension and pain.

  • Nervous System Regulation: Support your body in returning to a balanced state, helping with resilience, emotional regulation, and stress management.

  • Embodied Awareness: Deepen your awareness of bodily sensations and signals, connecting more fully with your body’s needs and responses.

  • Emotional Healing: Process emotions at a deeper, embodied level, leading to lasting healing and integration.

My Background and Experience

In addition to my training in Integrative Somatic Therapy through The Embody Lab, my practice is enriched by training in various somatic modalities. My approach includes:

  • Certification in Somatics and Internal Family Systems with Fran Booth, which integrates somatic work with inner parts.

  • Neuroscience and Mindfulness: Workshops with Dr. Dan Siegel, exploring the connection between the brain, body, and mindfulness practices.

  • Energies for Transformation: Training with Sally Kempton, blending spiritual energy work with embodiment practices.
