Hi, I'm Tammy

I bring over 17 years of experience in private practice. My background spans clinical social work, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and studies in the Enneagram, somatic and archetypal psychology. I’m passionate about creating a safe, affirming space where clients can explore and connect deeply with themselves on every level.

My Journey

I began my career in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), where I worked across diverse settings, supporting veterans, their families, and caregivers. My roles ranged from frontline social work with vulnerable populations in downtown San Francisco to developing innovative, grant-funded programs focused on complex mental health and substance use recovery. This work taught me the power of resilience and the depth of human experience.

Since opening my private practice in 2008, I’ve dedicated myself to holistic, integrative psychotherapy. My therapeutic style combines foundational psychology with practices that honor the mind, body, and spirit. I approach each person with curiosity, warmth, and a commitment to ongoing growth—both theirs and my own.

My Path with the Enneagram

The Enneagram has been a lifelong journey, thanks to my mother who was a teacher at Oscar Ichazo's Arica School in the 1990s. Over the past 25 years, I’ve studied with Enneagram leaders and developed my own unique model, "Essence Embodiment," blending the Enneagram’s mystical insights with modern somatic psychology and neuroscience. Certified as an Enneagram teacher, I’m dedicated to sharing this knowledge in accessible, meaningful ways.

I am an experienced presenter at international conferences and a respected teacher in the Enneagram community. As a Type 6, I bring a natural ability to create a supportive space for transformative exploration and growth.

Life Beyond Therapy

Beyond my work, I'm a mother, gardener, and lover of fresh air, living in the mountains of Asheville, NC. When not guiding clients, I find joy in the simple rhythms of family life and time outdoors, which keeps me grounded and grateful.
